In the beginning of 2023, I was still working for a corporation and dreaming of beginning full-time private practice work. Fast forward to now, the end of 2023, and I am a full-time private practice owner with multiple offerings that include a bustling membership community of 20 active participants, an autistic parent support group, coaching, and a full psychotherapy practice. This was all created in 5 months and while shadow-banned on social media for a large portion of it!!
What I have showed myself (and hopefully others) in these past 5 months is that self-employment can be a really good thing for an autistic person. Without the barriers of bosses and bureaucracy, I was able to put my analytical and solution-focused thinking into practice to create a service that is efficient, helpful, and needed.
In 2024, I plan to continue to write about the nuts and bolts of running an autistic-centered business so that other autistic people can replicate what I have done. I also hope to attract more autistic entrepreneurs to my various offerings since I believe I have a lot to offer fellow autistic entrepreneurs. So much of my life was spent hiding who I was and what I could do. I am now unencumbered showing what I can do and a lot of this is captured in my offerings and the content I share on social media.
When I look toward 2024, I am excited for what is to come. I am looking forward to expanding the services I offer and helping more people. I plan on reading more, attending more trainings (hello, autistic psychadelic training!), and becoming a more effective business owner and clinician.
Thank you for being with me on this journey as I expand and grow. I appreciate all of you.
