Ever since I joined social media as an openly Autistic therapist, I have heard countless stories from Autistic people about their experiences in therapy. As someone who has both been an Autistic client as well as an Autistic therapist, I have had a unique vantage point from both perspectives. All I can say is, our profession needs help. We are desperately undereducated when it comes to Autism (and the combination of frequently co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, hEDS/EDS, POTS, ME, Chronic Pain, OCD/OCPD, anxiety, depression, PTSD/cPTSD...)
I never formally offered clinical consultation to other therapists before because I honestly didn’t have the time. I still hardly do. But I want to offer more support to clinicians who are serving the same population I am. We desperately need more Autistic-Centered clinicians and I want to help facilitate this. So, I am offering Autistic-Centered clinical consultation to pre-licensed and licensed mental health clinicians. Spaces will unfortunately be limited because my practice is full so openings will be dependent on cancellations opening up my schedule.
